Property Maintenance and Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement section of the Planning Department is responsible for ensuring compliance with Lakeland's Land Development Regulations, Municipal Code, and other adopted polices and regulations. The Planning Department employs one full-time enforcement officer, who conducts site inspections, reviews plans for compatibility with City regulations, issues citations for noncompliance when warranted, and responds to inquiries and complaints related to property maintenance and other City codes. Citations are adjudicated monthly by the Lakeland Municipal Court.
