Weekly Activities for Seniors 55+

People Playing GamesThe Lakeland Senior Center is located 4527 Canada Road, next to I.H. Clubhouse. The facility is nestled in the picturesque setting of I.H. Park. The Center does not charge a membership fee and activities are open to all local-area seniors 55+.

The Center offers a variety of leisure activities and programs for seniors 55+, including athletic opportunities, educational classes, and luncheons/dinners.

Most activities and programs are free or have a minimal charge. Some activities are held at I.H. Clubhouse and the events stage, both within eyesight of the Center.

A Few Previous Activities...

"Tech Tuesdays" - Introductory and Intermediate Computer Instruction*Computer Instruction Class

Mavis Knight provided both introductory and intermediate computer basics.

The Introductory class included such essential skills as getting online and setting up an email account. The Intermediate class included instruction in Microsoft Word, cleaning out all that garbage on your computer, and what the toolbars mean!

*Howard Chick has taught several Computer Basics series of classes since the above series by Mavis Knight ended.

Sewing, Knitting & Crocheting Class

Mavis Knight taught step-by-step processes for sewing, knitting, and crocheting. Participants were asked to bring a pair of pants or an item of their choice, as well as scissors, thread, and a needle, or other related materials.
