in scenic western Tennessee, the
City of Lakeland's low development
and natural terrain fosters a
sense of country living that is
rapidly disappearing in other
Shelby County communities and
nearby Memphis.
While we are one of the fastest
growing cities in the county, our
natural assets can be preserved
through careful civic planning. A
number of lakes, ponds, streams,
parks and other recreational
opportunities improve the quality
of life for our residents,
including one 65-acre park with
hiking trails. The city also
requires developers to set aside
park land and greenways.
