New Residents
Welcome to Lakeland, Tennessee!
....Where quality is a way of life.

This page can also be accessed via LakelandTN.gov/newresidents.

CITYSEAL.clr.transparent_png.pngLocated in scenic western Tennessee, Lakeland's low development and natural terrain
fosters a sense of country living that is rapidly disappearing in other Shelby County
communities and nearby Memphis. A number of lakes, ponds, streams, parks, and other recreational opportunities improve the
quality of life for our residents, including a 65-acre park with open space, "The LAMP" Amphitheater, walking/hiking trails, and a lake for fishing. Get active...enjoy life!

Call_before_dig.jpgCall Before You Dig
1-800-351-1111 or visit this website.

From Tennessee811 brochure (copies may be available in City Hall lobby): "Tennessee law requires that you give 72 hours notice (excluding weekends & holidays) to Tennessee811 before your digging begins. It may be quite surprising, but damage to buried utility lines can occur when doing typical home improvement projects such as putting up a fence, mailbox post, swing set; building a deck or room addition; planting a garden, trees or shrubbery. If you're beginning a home improvement project that requires digging or adjusting the grade of your property, you need to call Tennessee811 before beginning your work."
