Full story at

TheLakeDistrict_page12_.jpgCalifornia-based developer Gilad Development and local design firm A2H presented plans for The Lake District, a mixed-use development, in April 2016.

“The Lake District will have a huge impact on the city,” said Lakeland City Manager Jim Atkinson.

It features a combination of uses such as luxury retail stores, two hotels, restaurants, a farmer's market, office spaces, residences, green space including parks and an untouched preserve area, and more.

“It will be, by far, the largest development that Lakeland has seen with 160-plus acres of high-scale residential and commercial development," said Atkinson.
