Dance and fitness instructor Sherri Gallick will offer Line Dancing classes at the I.H. Clubhouse (8 sessions) beginning May 7th. Single sessions are $5.00 per person or you can buy a card for 8 visits for $30 ($3.75 per class). Classes feature instruction for beginner as well as intermediate level students. Each dance that is taught will be step by step, walked in a slow pace and then put to music. Students should wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to dance! Lakeland Spring Soccer Registration is January 7th to February 3rd (late registration will be placed on a waiting list). Practice starts March 18th. Children ages 4-5 will practice on Mondays, ages 6-8 will practice on Tuesdays, and ages 9-11 will practice on Thursdays. Games are on Saturdays running from April 6th to May 25th. YMCA soccer costs $90; the fee includes shorts, jersey, practice jersey, socks, and trophy. Registration is online at www.ymcamemphis.org or a registration form is available at City Hall. The newly formed Lakeland Men’s Doubles Tennis League is open to the public and includes varied skill levels. Matches have been scheduled for Saturdays from May 18th to June 29th, 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Windward Slopes Park. There will be a championship match at the end of the season. There are 8 members who will play two doubles matches each week with everyone changing partners every week. New members can still sign up as an alternate who will play for anyone who cannot play the scheduled match or arrange to play that week’s match sometime during the week before the next Saturday match.
