Why are storm sewers regulated?
In 1993, the United States Environmental Protection Agency started regulating storm sewer discharges from cities with less than 100,000 in population. The purpose of the regulations was to reduce nonpoint source pollution entering our streams, rivers, lakes, and ponds.
